Special Red Bowl
All my life, I have been very interested in cooking, baking, and just experimenting with ingredients in the kitchen. I have always loved the sweet, cinnamon-like aroma that fills the house when something is baking in the oven, or the smell of freshly sautéed onions and garlic being perfectly crisped to make some of our family's traditional Mexican rice. Since about the 6th grade, I have had a red bowl that I use for absolutely everything. With this bowl, I have learned to make delicious blueberry scones, as well as many other treats, such as freshly baked brown butter cookies. Something popular my family and friends enjoy is my banana bread, which is decorated with freshly toasted peacans and brown sugar. I have explored many different types of desserts, along with a wide range of foods, and many things from different cultures or even ones I have come up with on my own.
With this project, I have come to the realization of what this bowl actually means to me. It is a connection to my cultures through food, where food is often an important part that brings people together. It is a way to show my family my appreciation for all the work that they do for me, my siblings, and themselves. I see it as a way for them to relax, do my part in the household, and treat ourselves to some delicious food.
