Spaghetti alle Vongole
Spaghetti alle Vongole has always been a traditional dish for Christmas in my family. The dish is made of cut-up tomatoes, spaghetti, chopped parsley, and clams. This tradition came from Italy, where my parents immigrated from, and they continued making it here in America. My parents told me about this tradition and were excited to share it with my brother and I. Also, they always let my brother and I help with the cutting of the parsley and tomatoes. This object cannot be dated, however, we make it fresh at home with the ingredients we buy every year. This is significant to my family because we still eat this recipe today and have been for many years. I have had this dish every Christmas since I could remember! What this flavorful object says about my identity is that my family loves to make these types of dishes every Christmas, and they always end up to be extremely delicious!
