Soccer Net
Every little boy or girls dream to own a soccer net. I was lucky to own one, it was the summer of 2014, and my father suddenly walks through the gate with a very big box. I asked him what was inside, He said he couldn’t tell me. The one thing I didn’t want to hear was I can’t tell you, but I waited anyway. After a few hours of work we finished, it was a soccer net. Instantly we ran in the house and grabbed our soccer balls, we played the rest of the day. Later we came inside tired and my father was waiting for us at the door. I asked him what he needed to say and he said “You guys are very lucky to have a net like that in your backyard. When my brothers came from Italy on boat to America they didn’t even have as much as you guys had. When they played soccer, they played in the streets with an old ripped up soccer ball and the goals were cardboard boxes. They didn’t whine and complain for what they had, the appreciated it and that is all that matters.” I was shocked in what he just said. The next day my brothers and I went outside to play and my dad was out there working on the net, I asked him “Dad what are you doing?” he said “I’m spray painting the crossbar with the Italian flag, so you can remember where you came from and what I told you last night.” Ever since that day, every time I go outside to shoot around I think of what he told me that day. The day we got the soccer net. #Soccer #Sarich2018 #Family
