Sketchbook
My important object is my Sketchbook. This is important to me because it helps me decompress from the world around me, and helps me learn different drawing techniques. The outside of the sketchbook is black, but sometimes I like to decorate the cover with stickers. The pages are very smooth, which is helpful, because you can use all types of supplies. When I draw in the book I usually like to use pens, because if you mess up you can create a different drawing that you wouldn't have thought of before.
Another reason that I love to draw, is because it helps me connect with my family's background. My family on my Mom's side has a very strong history with art. My Mom told me that lots of my relatives carried sketchbooks around with them, which I think is really cool, but kind of weird, that we all have something in common, even after so long.
My Grandma loved to draw, which helped her when she would sew new table cloths, or even clothing. My cousin is really into graphic design, and drawing really helped her pursue her career. My Mom also told me that in high school my Uncle drew cartoons, and challenged himself with every new creation. One of my Grandmothers cousins is currently a high school art teacher, which I find pretty cool, because it is an aspect that really helps represent yourself as a person. Finally, my sister and I love to draw. We make drawing for each other, we have contest, or we just doddle for fun. I think that doing this really helps bring us closer together, and tightens our sister bond.
