Sea glass collection
My family's sea glass collection was started by my great grandma and has been passed down through generations. The collection started when my great grandma moved to America and would walk on the beach and find sea glass. She eventually started to take the sea glass home and put it in containers. The collection expanded in size quickly with the help of my great grandpa and then my grandma. The sea glass could no longer fit in small containers so they got a large glass vase to put it in. Once my grandma started to help her parents search, she became very dedicated to contributing to the collection and would always go to the beach to look. She would wake up early and go to the beach so she could be the first person to find a piece that day. My grandma then introduced my grandpa to the collection and they went for walks everyday on the hunt. Ever since my mom and her siblings were young, they all would help search and help build the collection. With years worth of collected sea glass, my great grandma's collection went from a small container to several large vases and bowls full of seashells and sea glass. It took awhile for me to find sea glass without my mom placing a piece down on the beach for me to find but now that I am old enough to do it myself, I am always going to the beach. We recently had to get another glass bowl for our collection since it is so full. My cousins and I love adding on to the collection and it is still growing today.
