Mistic River

This river, nestled in the Dominican Republic, is one of my favorite places in the world. I spend time there every summer break, spring break, or any kind of break I can, always with my cousins and family. There’s a path that leads straight to it from my grandparents’ land, and walking it feels like a tradition we’ve kept alive for years. It’s not just the destination, but the journey itself that’s special.

I was just four years old when I first visited the river. I remember feeling the cool water, the way the trees shaded us, and the laughter that filled the air. Ever since that moment, I’ve been in love with this place. We shower in the river, cool off from the heat, bathe the dogs if they follow us down, and the girls love to wash their hair in the clear, refreshing water.

This river is more than just a beautiful spot in nature—it holds memories of joy, togetherness, and peace. It’s where we play, talk, and just be ourselves. It’s a part of who I am. No matter where life takes me, this river will always be in my heart.
