Russian Officers Uniform
This is a picture of my great grandfather Charles Dozoretz. He was born and raised in Minsk, Russia. Charles was an officer in the Russian army around 1918. His profession prior to joining the army was making saddles for the Tzar. Charles and his family lived happily until the Tzar fell and anti-semitism began to rise in Russia. Charles was forced to leave because of the growing anti-semitism. Charles and his family crossed Europe by foot and horse and finally were able to secure passage by boat to Canada. One of my family members died en route to Canada but the others made it safely. Charles and the extended family then moved to Buffalo where many of the Dozoretz family members still reside today.
