Painting of the Irish Coast

My Great Grandma had lived in Ireland during the 1920’s. She lived there until she was 17 and decided to come to America. She had come alone leaving her family and old life behind. She was only able to bring a few things but she did bring over a painting made by her father. It is a painting of the rocky coast of Ireland. When she got to the U.S. she had little money moving around place to place, but she still held on to the painting and our family still has it today. This painting shows my Irish heritage and the perseverance my grandma had to come here alone during The Great Depression and make it on her own.

Place(s): Ireland, United States
Year: 1925
