Before the Cold War, many Russians left Russia seeking better jobs or just moving. Because of the large influx of incoming immigrants, states started dedicating building as a place for immigrants to find a job or a place to live. My Grandpa took a job at the building to help find jobs for the newly found Americans. He became well know by the people in the building so he was given a new job. He was told he would be sent to Russia where he would help people make the transition to America easier. Then the Cold War started which caused the border and the number of people to move to America and Russia shrink. Both countries still held embassies allowing for my grandpa to travel between countries because of this he was hired by the F.B.I to be an undercover spy. While in Russia he carried out his job and the one given by the F.B.I. He did this by asking people he was helping questions about announcements the government had made. As a gift one of the people he was helping made him a comic of the Russian leader and president. He has since then died but we found the card in his office drawer.
