rings and a necklace.
My personal object is my necklace that I wear around my neck every day. This necklace is extremely important to me because I keep rings of everyone important to me on the necklace—especially a certain garnet ring. You see, I was born in the dead middle of January, so my birthstone is a Garnet, a red gem. This ring also happened to be my mother’s wedding ring when my parents were married. It reminds me every day of a happier time in my life when I was 4, that maybe life was not so bad. My parents are still alive today, but they aren’t exactly the same people they used to be. It just reminds me of a simpler time in my life. There are two other rings: a simple silver ring and a tanzanite ring. The silver ring is a promise my friend made to me to stay my friend until we die. Kinda like an oath, but less contract-like. The Tanzanite ring was one of my grandmother's many rings before she died. She mattered to me deeply, and I was extremely sad when she died when I was 9. Each ring on this simple silver chain is a promise to my friends and family that I’ll keep going and keep exploring what we call life.
