My object is Rice and Salchicha, and it falls into the food category. Rice and Salchicha is made of rice, vienna sausages, seasonings like sazon ect., and my Mama likes to put a lot of cilantro in it as well. This dish originated from Puerto Rico and is also popular in cuba. Rice and salchicha connect to my identity/culture because it is a dish that was often made in my household and is a warming and welcoming food that brings my family together. We eat this on holidays like thanksgiving, birthdays, and even just on a normal day when the whole family is together and it's not a sunday, because my mama likes to relax on sundays and watch her bible shows on youtube. This dish is very important to me because it makes me feel like I'm at home with a loving, warm and caring family. It tastes good and brings the family together.
