Red envelope
A red envelope is a gift that is received during important occasions. In my culture, occasions like Chinese New Year are often where people would get red envelopes. To me, receiving a red envelope is like the best feeling in the world. It felt like I got free money but there is actually a meaning behind the red envelope. The red stands for luck, happiness, and energy. Different amount is given depending on who the relation is. Parents will give more to their children than relatives. This is to give them more of a blessing and wish them to do well in life. Usually, relatives will keep giving it to you until you are married, which is why adults never really get red envelopes.
