Recipe
This is one of the many Ziglar family recipes that are passed down from my great-grandma. My Grandma was born in raised in Pfafftown, North Carolina. When she was growing up, learning to cook and provide for her family was very important and it was something she took pride in. When she got older and had kids and grandkids, she starting writing down all of her recipes so that others could learn. The picture only shows one page, but the book contains dozens of recipes that she cooked for her family growing up. She was very adamant on making sure everyone knew and learned how to cook and provide for themselves, so she took the time to hand write each of her recipes for simple dinner ideas. She gifted this to my father in 2005, which was the year my older brother was born. This recipe represents the love and care that my family has for each other. It represents the time and effort my grandma put into taking care of her family and prioritizing teaching the younger generation, for instance my dad, about southern cooking. Now, my family will forever have this piece of my grandma's traditional cooking and will be able to continue to pass it down, while remembering how much love she poured into these recipes.
