I’m writing about my great-grandmother’s book of recipe for cakes and other tasty treats.
It looks like a book but it's not a book. It is a lot of paper with recipes. Most of the recipes are handwritten in the Hungarian language and some are written by a typewriter, but some recipes are cut out from old newspapers. Some of the paper is big but most of the paper is small. The old recipes feel like sandpaper. The papers look yellow and thin because the paper is very old. They smell old.My great-grandmother used this book a lot of times for many years to bake tasty cakes and other treats. Sadly I never tried any cakes that she made. The artifact is from Hungary, she was 92 years old when she died. The book is from her house and it was the only thing that my mom took after she died.
I chose this artifact because it was part of our family for years and my mom spent a lot of time with her grandmother. I can see why my mom likes this book a lot. She was known in the family for making a lot of good treats. It shows the book was important for her to make the treats.
I’m wondering how she made the sweets and how they taste.   I wish I could try out the sweets she made, but since we have the recipes, we can try to make them.
