Quran (The holy book of Islam)
I’m a girl from Bangladesh. There was a time when my grandfather got sick that’s when my grandfather heard the beautiful Quran and got well. That’s when my grandfather's Quran reading journey started. In 1962 when my father was born the first thing grandfather did was letting my dad touch the Quran first but something stopped him. A few years later, in ramada my dad wanted it to read my grandfather’s Quran but my grandfather didn’t let him touch it. He got a new Quran for my dad so that my dad does not touch the Quran. My grandfather never let anyone touch the Quran because he was scared of someone dropping it. My grandfather died when I was not even born. I was 10 when I came to New York in 2015. In 2018 I visited, I was 13 year old and my grandma told me the story of my grandfather and the Quran. My grandma gave me the Quran and I thought it was from the mosque and I started reading it and after I finished reading it she told me this the Quran that I was telling a story about and she found something on me and she gave me the Quran to keep it. Then I realized why it was so important to take care of the Quran and why my grandfather loves the Quran. When I was in Bangladesh whenever I read the Quran it just cleaned my mind. The Quran is more relaxing than doing Meditation. It’s really meaningful to me because it’s a gift from god and it's my grandfather's favorite thing that he always keeps with him and now I’m blessed to have the Quran.
