Quran
The Quran, our holy book, is very important to my family’s cultural identity. Prophet Muhammed was enlightened by the words of Allah, which were delivered by the Angel Gabriel, for the prophet to spread to the people on Earth. These words were later put onto paper, inside a book, thus creating the Quran. Our culture is intertwined with our religion, and at the center is our guidance, The Holy Book, the Quran. My parents emigrated from Egypt, and immigrated into the U.S. Every person from our ancestors until now were Muslim. Islam is tied into my family as the Quran is. Without Islam or the Quran, my family would not be the same. On my mother’s side of the family everyone was pure Egyptian. We had been there for so long that no person knew that they were from anywhere else. On my father’s side of the family, it was the same thing. Every person was Egyptian. My family relates to other families around the world because we are Muslim. Over one billion people share the same story about the Quran as us. Our story is unique because my family came from another country. We had to endure many hardships as well as keeping one of our most beloved objects.
