 The Quill Pen

By Story Cutler
My great great great grandfather Anthony Beron was a writer. He made an inkwell and a quill to write with. Anthony Beron lived in Benham Farm when he made the inkwell and quill. He cared about it because he wrote stories with it. He wrote often. Anthony was resourceful because he didn’t buy the quill and inkwell he made them. I have it now and it reminds me of him.
The inkwell was passed down daughter after daughter. It started in Virginia then went to Massachusetts and now it is in New York. I have it in my house. Me and my mom want to try to use it again because it hasn’t been used in a while. When I am older I am going to give them to my kids.
One time when my mom was little she went to her grandfather's house. He lived on a hill. My mom used to play with the inkwell and quill. When she was there, my grandfather made crossword puzzles with it. The inkwell represents Anthony’s family and how much he loves them.
