Purple Heart
The object that is important to me is my great-grandfathers purple heart. My great-grandfather was in World War Two and had gotten wounded in a battle. I didn’t know about this medal, nor did I know how my dad had it until my parents had told me about it. My dad didn’t really remember how my great-grandfather was wounded. Dad did know great-grandpa was wounded in battle and lost fingers, which caused him to earn this medal. It’s cool that my great-grandfather had fought in World War Two, but it is sad to think he had to be injured to earn this medal. The medal came with a certificate thanking him for his service, and it was actually singed by President John F. Kennedy. My great-grandfather didn’t live that long after he came back from the war. This is medal and certificate are important to me because we have a president’s real signature, and it reminds me of my great-grandfather. I’m grateful he helped the country by risking his own life to save people so they live out their lives.
