The first day of Bangali year is celebrated as Pahela Baishakh. It is celebrated on holiday on 14th of April. When I was little I did not know about thisPahela Baishakh. When I grew up I learned from my grandfather this tradition we celebrated in our family. From my personal experience I like Pohela Boishakh because all of my family stay together and we eat traditional food.  When I woke up in the morning, I went to my mom and dad to touch their feet and get their blessings for the new year of Bangali. On that day, when I look at the house I see my mom painting colors in front of my house. I try to make designs with my mom but I alway get yelled at by mom because I mess the design all the time. For celebrating Pahela Baishakh my mom cooks rice and fish to start the new year. One that day in my family all the boys wear traditional punjabi and women wear red and white sarees. On this day, we go out to see our cultural dance in Baishakhi Mela and listen to cultural songs. It is really fun.
