Plov
Plov is a dish that comes from Uzbekistan. Plov is a common dish in my country. My family came from Uzbekistan in 2011 in search for a better life. Dishes like this remind my family of where they came from.
It is easy to make! Here is the RECIPE: 2 cups basmati rice.4 heads garlic, whole.½ cup vegetable oil.2 pounds boneless leg of lamb, cut into 3-inch pieces.2 large onions, thinly sliced.5 large carrots, coarsely grated.2 tablespoons cumin seeds. And the rest is pretty long.
My whole family loves plov because of the taste. It’s not just my family who loves plov, it could be anyone! When some people taste plov, they are like“I don’t really like this much.” but when you get used to taste, it tastes sogood! Plov is like rice with meat and strips of cooked carrots. It may sound gross but you would love it if you tried to taste it.
I woud love to ask my ancestors some questions: When was it made (first created)? Do you know who discovered plov first?
It is important for families to have food that reminds them of home!
