Plantain Tree
I was given a plantain tree from my grandmother as part of a family tradition it been given to me since I was a baby. Under that tree my umbilical cord was buried there in my house yard, I grew up with that tree. When the plantain tree makes plantain they cut it, it got replaced by the plantain tree seedlings. It's important for because it was from someone special to me and under that tree a part of me was buried to remind of the day of my birth. Even Though I can’t remember anything from when I was little it reminds me of my grandmother and the the village of my childhood. Seeing people farming planting plantain tree yams etc.. The plantain tree also feed me, I didn’t have to buy plantains from market. The plantain tree represents where I come from which is the countryside of Haiti called Jeremie.
