Placek
The dish I selected that has come through my family is called Platzek. Platzek is a Polish yeast coffee cake that my family makes every Easter. This tradition and recipe trace back to the time when my mother's family lived in Poland and has been passed down through generations, both orally and in writing. It’s definitely one of my favorite dishes, connecting me to my family heritage in Poland. This sweet, crumbly cake is typically enjoyed for breakfast and is topped with a delightful crumble. Each bite offers not only a taste of something sweet but also a taste of my ancestry.
