My object is called a Pilon de Madera. It is used for cooking. It is used for grinding herbs and mashing plantains. It is usually made from wood. The wood is usually made from caoba and guayacan trees. My object comes from Puerto Rico. My grandma gave the Pilon to me. We use the Pilon to make a Puerto Rican dish called Mofongo on holidays. My object is important to me because in the future I plan to make Mofongo. My culture is Puerto Rican and I love to cook.
