This story is about my grandma and how she influenced my life. The pictures represent the love I have for her and how special she is. She is a hero and I will always love her. It is also so great to have the memories we’ve shared. My cousins and I had great memories with her and with my brother. I lived in El Salvador for more than 10 years and she took care of me. I was the baby in the house and when she traveled to the U.S. I felt lonely without her.

My grandmother has always been important for me. She is like my first mother. She has always cared for me and if I wanted something she could not say no. She is in El Salvador and I miss her so much. I don’t think about being without her because I don’t think I could move forward. I wish I could make a wish and ask for my grandma to live forever.

These pictures represent my identity because thanks to my grandmother I’m strong. I have in mind all the things she taught me about the culture and traditions of El Salvador. On our special occasions she always made us something small to make us happy. I am very thankful for everything my grandmother did for me.  The pictures also represent my immigration story. Four years ago I was in El Salvador but my grandma traveled to visit my mom. The main thing was that I did not have anybody to take care of me. That's why my family decided that I should travel too. Nothing is the same as El Salvador but I feel that it was a great effort and I will be this person thanks to my grandma.
