Photograph of China
I was adopted as a baby from the Jiangxi province in China. This is a photo from my parents' trip to meet me for the first time and take me back to the US. Because I have never been back to China since and I was too little to have any memories from my time there, my only personal interpretations of China come from the photographs from my family's trip. It's interesting to think that I am the only family member that connects us to a different tradition and culture than the rest of my family who are a mix of European ethnicities. Although I don't identify very strongly with my Chinese roots -- since I grew up on the West Coast of the US -- I do cherish the photo albums we have of my parents' trip and I have kept a few photos from it with me as I moved.
