Grandparents on New Years Eve.

It is New Year's Eve, Maria and Jesus are dressed in the most handsome and beautiful clothes and draped in cologne and perfume. They sit with friends and speak in Spanish and talk and talk waiting for the New Year to come. Eventually they take this picture. Why is this specific picture important to me? It is the oldest picture we have of my grandparents. They are still living and we have multiple pictures of them. This one is special because we cannot forget where we came from. Why is my Family's story important to share? My grandparent’s story is important because it represents a wave of migrants that came from Puerto Rico that made history. How does this object represent me? This picture represents me because my two grandparents are a part of me. This object represents me because it is a part of my history. That is why this picture of my Grandparents Maria and Jesus, is important to me as an individual.

Guess which ones they are! Don't, I am going to tell you. My Grandma Maria is in the bottom left, she always had the iconic thin Latina eyebrows. My Grandpa Jesus who has hair is in the back, in the light suit. This was probably in the late 50’s early 60's.
