My object is a family picture my mom recently took after our family gathered together in Chicago. In the photo, we are standing in front of a background smiling and laughing together. My mom keeps the picture in a frame on the wall because it is very special to her.
My mom moved to the United States from Mexico many years ago. When she first arrived, life was difficult. She missed her home , worked long hours, and had to adjust to a new language and culture. Even though things were not easy, she stayed determined to build a better future for herself and for the family she hoped to have one day, with her family by her side.
Now, whenever my mom looks at the picture, she feels proud of everything she accomplished. She says the photo reminds her that all of her hard work and sacrifices were worth it because she has a beautiful family and a happy life here in Chicago. The picture represents love, strength, and the journey my mom took to create a new home in the United States.
