My parents, Sonia and Darwin, got married in 1983. They both migrated from Barbados in 1977 as young adults, but did not meet until they came to Brooklyn. They migrated to find more opportunities and to potentially start a family, which they did. My brother was one year old and attended the wedding. My mom was pregnant with my sister in the photo.
