My Grandma's Name is Dulce Brito. She is hispanic, she was born in Dominican Republic and she was born May 12th around 1954. She came to the United States voluntarily, to give her children a better life.These pictures were important to her because these were family photos and it gave her strength and helped her keep their memories intact. She traveled by plane to Puerto Rico then Brooklyn then went New York City, and that’s how her journey began. It is important for people to learn about immigrant’s because they are how the United States (US) grew to become an important country. For example, the army grew vigorously because many people from different countries in the continent kept coming to the US. Many people also came to the US because they wanted their children to get a better education and become successful in life. To make their family happy, parents sacrifice the life they had before, just to get a better job so they can feed their family.
