Beige Vintage Guess Jeans

The Guess jeans are one of the first things my mom was able to purchase for herself, with her own money, as a teen. Living and growing up in Ecuador up until age 21, one of my mom’s fondest childhood memories was when her uncle would send her and her siblings clothing from the USA. She often has talked about how she admired that her uncle, who lived in New York, was in a fortunate enough position to send clothes and financially support his elderly mother. As a young adult she wore clothing that had the big U.S.A logo with pride because it was a reminder to her that on the other side of the world if she was determined enough and worked hard enough, she too would be able to live a comfortable life and support her family.
