The item in this image is a realistic painting of the Montana landscape created by my great grandmother. This piece holds meaning in my family as it depicts the landscape of Montana where my great grandmother and many other relatives grew up. This piece was made in Montana which was then kept by her son in California which now resides with my family in Florida. My great grandmother grew up in the family business of logging raising her to have a big personality as women at this time were often ridiculed for working, so her ability to see beauty in a life that didn’t treat her favorably holds a deep meaning throughout our family.
