When my mom migrated to the United States she would always carry a picture of the virgin. she said she prayed and talked to the virgin so she’ll make it safe to the United States without any problems. When my mom felt alone and scared she would pray .. pray that my grandma her mom would not worry too much . All my mom wanted was to come to New York for a better opportunity . At least half the people who are Mexican believe in the virgin de Guadalupe . It is said that she’ll listen to you and will try to help you out . Our lady of Guadalupe has her own special day celebrated. On December 12 there’s always a mass in honor for her . If we have a bad day or a problem we pray to our lady of Guadalupe to help and guide us .
