ornament
My great grandma immigrated to the United States from Italy way before I was born. One of her favorite things to do there was to paint sculpted things, it was a big part of her life in Italy. She loved painting ornaments for Christmas time so she could put them around the tree and be creative. So when she immigrated to America, she brought some of her favorite and best painted ornaments along on her journey. She would say they remind her of her life in her home country and hobbies there. She decided to pass one that she thought was more special to my grandma, her daughter. Then after that, my grandma passed it along to my parents and I to put up on the tree. The ornament is round with red and green diagonal stripes as the entire color of it and had trees of different sizes around it placed on the bottom half. Now, every Christmas season, we put the painted ornament on the tree to show our love and how important her culture is to us.
