Old Piano
A couple of years ago my family was given the opportunity to take an upright piano from our church. Our church had three pianos and we were welcomed to have one if we could get it to our home. At the time my older brother was taking piano lessons and playing in the church band so he chose the piano in the best condition and we loaded it to be taken to our home. The piano is made of wood, very sturdy, and a majority of its keys were still in tune so we placed it in our living room. My brother and I would spend countless hours over the years seated on the old piano stool composing and performing our favorite music. Something like a piano can represent the cultural identity of America because many different backgrounds, no matter how diverse will always have similar core beliefs like food, religion, and music. Music helps spread cultural traditions and ideas throughout America and the world and it can bring people together.
