The Pink Toy Chest
 The greatest reward as a child was to receive the yes to play in the pink toy chest. The chest was a pink wooden box with blue metal accents as its boarder and a fake lock in the middle. It was passed down to my sister and I from my mother; to play with the toys there was a privilege that we had to earn. To be able to use the toys my room had to be completely clean so we wouldn't lose any of the pieces, and we would only get them for a few hours on a weekend. The toys were old barbie sets from my mother’s childhood which is why we had to care for them so, she loved them very dearly, so we had to do the same. When we moved in 2020, we took it with us, and it has been sitting in the basement unused since. I miss being 8 cleaning my entire room to play with my mom’s old barbie kitchen for a few hours, but as I've grown up, I realized to show appreciation to things because I started out early with appreciating my mother’s childhood.
