Out of my 4 great parents, all of them are polish. While I was always told very little about them besides the vague “oh I remember them talking in polish” or “I remember her beet stew”, I know very little. Which is sad given how recent the immigrantion is and how historically important it is. Atleast to me. I found this while looking through my grandmas things, before my mother told me she thought they moved here before the war, this proves she moved here after. During the Cold War, when there was alot  of political tension in Poland. I wish I could know more of Mary and meet her. Her bravery still shocks me to this day.
