My object, a necklace given to me from my grandmother, tells the story of who she was and what impact she made on my life. The necklace symbolized how giving she was. My grandmother was an immigrant from the Dominican Republic and she came to the United States. Although she didn't have much, she always had presents for me and my cousins. The necklace also symbolizes how caring she was. My grandmother was very loving despite, having had a very bad relationship with my grandfather. She suffered but was still able to care so much for us. The necklace symbolizes her connection to me even though I only knew my grandmother for nine years. She helped my parents raise me. She was always there for me in all my achievements. The loss of my grandmother took a toll on me and my family. She was important to everybody and I never got to see her in her last moments because I decided to go to my friends house. So, the necklace carries memories of who she was and when I wear it I carry her around with me. In conclusion, the necklace continues to carry a story of who my grandmother was.
