Nebraska Football Helmet
In 1996, my grandfather won this Nebraska Cornhuskers football helmet at a fundraiser. This helmet was actually worn by Tommie Frazier, the quarterback for Nebraska in 1992-1995, who led the football team to win two back-to-back national championships. I think it represents my culture well because almost all of the adults in my family went to Nebraska University, and many live there now. We are very big fans of the huskers, and we go to lots of their games together. I have so many awesome memories of having fun and being with my family from these. For me, this helmet symbolizes all the memories with my family, but also reminds me of the fact that my parents went to college, since they went to this university.Lot’s of kids have parents who never went to college, but for my family, pursuing education is a big part of our culture. I think my story shows that it is important to have a passion to share with your loved ones, because it brings people together, creates memories, and establishes culture.
