Clothing is a big part of my culture. Clothing is connected to music, tradition, and a daily life thing only in Mexico. Everything is handmade from the shirt to rebozo (shawl:a piece of fabric worn loosely over the shoulders, upper body, and sometimes the head for warmth, fashion, or religious reasons) its a unique way to dress and 3 layers over the shirt. Many women wear it daily in Mexico while doing regular things such as cooking and cleaning or just going out for food but it's not just clothes, We give it as gifts only on special occasions and wear it on other occasions as tradition. This has been going on for many years in Mexico and has been brought to the U.S from the many families who moved here to start lives and to keep our culture and tradition alive. Most clothing is made in Mexico then sent here from Mexico. This is important in my culture for many reasons but its important to me because its a way  I see myself when I think of my identity, I love these dresses and my mom did teach me how to make them when I was younger. I teach my sister to learn to wear them when she can so our culture can be passed down many generations.
