My Story
My object is a stool from Russia. My Mother was born in Russia in 1972. No one was really allowed out of Russia and stools of all kinds were some of the big selling items for people who were immigrating. At last after four long years of waiting my Mom, her sister, and her parents (my grandparents) were able to leave Russia and immigrate to Israel. And along with them they brought a white wooden stool that lasted and survived many many years.
I chose this object because immigrating and learning about immigration is a very big and important part of my family and everyday life. The reason for this is because my Mom works in an archive called-”Blavatnik Archive”. Blavatnik mainly talks to veterans and people who immigrated from Russia and dangerous areas; they also learn about jewish history.
My mom learns and shares about a lot of people so why can’t I Learn and share about her history? Immigration is such a big and important part and subject to my family. What is important to your family?
