My rice necklace from Ecuador is very special to me. Since my brother and I fight so much, I didn’t expect him to bring something back when he went to visit Ecuador. The necklace is also special because it is made with one grain of rice and a little glass container. He must have waited a long time for it to be done because a person with a laser had to carve my name into it. I am part Ecuadorian, so this necklace is now a part of my Spanish heritage. I will always hold it in a close place to my heart. The necklace is put through a black thin string and there is a small black bulb of blue water and a small grain of rice with my whole name carved on it in black. The rice is floating at the top of the little bit of water. My necklace from Ecuador is beautiful and special to my heart.
