This is my mother's ring. She gave this to me when I was 14 and I have worn it everyday since. It represents everything she has sacrificed to get me and my sister to prestigious universities where we are able to pursue an education and fulfill our passions in life. We are always put first above everything else in her life. This ring goes further to represent what my whole family, especially my grandparents, has sacrificed leaving Korea to come to the United States with little to nothing in their pockets just for me, my sister and my cousins to have a better life.
