  • The object I’m going to be talking about is my flag. There’s a lot of meaning and also pride in it. The fact that I’m Puerto Rican makes me proud and I’m glad that Spanish was my first Language. My family was doing good living in Puerto Rico, but then my mom didn’t like to live there anymore. I was still a young boy and didn’t know what was happening. At that point, my mother decided to have a fresh start with, wanted her children to have more opportunities. I was 8 years old when I first came to Massachusetts, I was afraid, shy, and nervous. Because I was new to a whole different state and moved to different schools. I knew it was going to be a challenge for me to learn a new language and to always have my head up. We moved to Florida and to be honest I liked it because I had a couple of friends and they knew both languages. I was really happy because I was close with one of them and he ended up teaching me English and I ended up teaching him Spanish I felt happy I felt like I wasn’t the kid that went to Massachusetts I felt accomplished. I’m so proud of my flag because it has many stories and probably the reason why our family is still together because we all have been through so many things and I’m proud of the person I’ve become today, and if it wasn’t for the many things I’ve learned and been through I feel like I would have been still stuck in one place. I thank my friends and family for been there for me and for making me become a better person myself.
