My Little Clay Turtle
My Little Clay Turtle
Never forget where you come from. My object is this little clay turtle my father bought a few years ago when we were in Montañita Beach (in my country, Ecuador). When I look at the turtle, it reminds me of walking on the beach at night with many people around us. We were planning to leave for NY two days after that beach trip, so my father decided to buy this turtle to remind us of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Whenever I see this turtle when I arrive home, I feel relaxed and remember the day we bought it. It also makes me feel kind of sad. I miss my own bedroom and my friends, but at the same time, I am proud of myself because I know that being in U.S. will be better for me, my family and my future family.
