My Great-Grandfather lived here.

My great-grandfather lived in this house, in Glandore Ireland.  It’s a small one room house with a dirt floor.  He lived in it with his 9 siblings.  He and half of his siblings migrated to the United states in 1928 and never returned.  In the early 2000’s, my mother, uncles, aunts  and grandparents returned to Glandore.  They all went to a nearby bar that was run by relatives that they had never met.   After the bar closed, they drove from the bar to this house.  Although it had been abandoned, my relatives still lived on the same plot of land in another similar house with a dirt floor.  This is a reminder to me about how lucky I am to live comfortably in the United States, while some people still live in poor houses like the one my Irish relatives still live in today.
