My object is a pipe. It is made of wood. It is brown, gold and black, and it’s over 30 years old. It was made in the Dominican Republic. The pipe is my great grandmother’s. The history behind it is that my great grandma gave the pipe to my grandmother for herself. It’s very important to my culture because a lot of grandmothers smoke. My great grandma gave it to my grandmother because she knew that the pipe represented her. It was very important to my grandmother because it came from my great grandmother. She taught me how to use it, but I didn’t like it because it tasted bad, and it is bad for your body to smoke. The pipe is part of our family, because it reminds us about home and everything in the Dominican Republic.
