My Grandfather's Career

A Letter Typed By My Grandfather
A Letter Typed By My Grandfather

My grandfather, Herman Kuver, was born in the Bronx in 1910.  He started his career in the mid 1920's in the typing pool of the New York Stock Exchange.  Eventually, he became Secretary to the President of the Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney.  This is a letter he typed (hk in bottom left) on behalf Richard Whitney.  Herman eventually became a floor partner at Hemphill, Noyes, & Co., button number 101 (also in picture).   I had the privilege of joining him on the floor of the NYSE on the day he retired in 1975.  This was my inspiration for my ‘Wall Street’ Career.
