The day my grandfather got baptized and accepted Jesus is really the day my family ever considered being in a religion.  My grandfather had always been a father figure to my sister, myself, and my brother.  He was the one person we looked up to and so when he got baptized, so did our mom and the rest of my family did too.  My grandfather’s baptism “certificate” is one of the most important things to me.  When he died in 2015, I kept looking back on it.  He had always followed Jesus the best way possible and always made sure that we did as well. My family story is obviously different from others, but my family story is different than any other person’s story I’ve met.  My grandfather pretty much paved the way for our family.  He taught many different things.  Maybe not in the sense of being rich, but of having moral values and respecting others.  He was the many people in my life to each me what it means to respect others, have my own ethics, and have my own moral values.  He taught me that I should be different from everyone else and to make my own decisions.
