THE PHOTO ABOVE IS NOT THE ACTUAL COOKBOOK! I DONT HAVE A ACTUAL PICTURE OF IT, BUT THIS IS WHAT IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE. JUST WITH NO WORDS!!
The family cookbook has been in my family for many years, more than 3 decades. This particular family cookbook has recipes from my great-great-grandmother, my great grandmother, my grandmother, and my great aunt. The cookbook has been passed around, and is very important to this family. The cookbook connects us all. They make us feel happy, and safe, and protected, and at one with the world. The cookbook has a special affect on everyone. It even has a special affect on me. This object is important to me because it helps me feel closer to my family members, and makes me feel like I can actually cook. This object connects to my identity/culture because it reminds me of how all the recipes are apart of my childhood. These recipes make me feel happy by reminding me of my family, and all of the happy family memories connected with it. Usually use the book during holidays like Christmas, and Thanksgiving. These holidays are very special to us. Especially Thanksgiving, when we can all come together and eat as a family. This year, the virus has affected us, and Thanksgiving, but that isn't going to stop us. We are just going to be doing different procedures than usual. Only a few of our family members will stay and eat, while others take their food to go, or just simply eat outside. This cookbook is very important, and is something that cannot be replaced. And I’m sure everyone in my family feels the same way.
