My Almohada

Relationship: Im/migrant

My object is a pillow.  It was made in El Salvador by my mother’s hands.  My mother sent it to me four years ago for Mother’s Day.  I use it to rest my head on.  When I go to sleep, I think of my mother.  She made it specifically for me, because my mother loves me.  She hasn’t seen me for eleven years.  The pillow is made of one hundred percent polyester fabric.  It has flowers because my mother likes flower prints. She says flowers give meaning to life, and they make it more beautiful.  That’s why my mother plants flowers around the yard.  The pillow is a way to have my mother with me.
